In Haas’ hands the mundane railway station become a place of tension. Four ladies in the waiting room, their attention, captured by the people coming and going at the ticket box, miss both the ubiquitous embracing couple and the angst filled faces of those seated in the departing train. Concertina book, hand coloured line drawing . 16.3 x 11.0 cm (open 122.0 cm). Black covers with black ribbon ties. Signed, titled and dated inside front cover. Unique. An Elegy on the Death and Burial of Cock Robin (1996)
Haas presents us with a delightful new look at the Cock Robin story. Hand-coloured drypoints depicting the characters in human form with birds heads etc. This hand size book is aptly bound with black ribbon and housed in bag made of fabric from the forties era. 6.0 x 11.0 x 2.0 cm.
